Hi Angelo,

Part of this is my fault.  I was unable to attend the event and as such we had to rely on one person for the photography.  Marisa kindly offered some photographs and sent them to Barry.  Presumably the one she chose were the ones she liked.  As a member contribution we like to respect that decision and publish the photos as chosen.  Perhaps if you had contributed some photos as well we would have had more to choose from?

As for photos of the 8C, none were taken in the correct layout for the front cover.

We have also featured the 8C on at least two other covers since I've been doing the layout.

The 156 wagon is a nice car, one of which many of our readers own, with the city on the backdrop it summed up Spettacolo well, I believe.

As a reminder to contributors, if you want a picture on the front cover it HAS to be taken in PORTRAIT orientation.  When printed at 300 dpi I need full resolution DSLR photo to fill vertically with a picture in portrait mode.

Cheers
Stuart

I have been a member of a number of Car clubs over the years and my father is always getting club magazines from the UK and I must say that the "Cross + Serpent" is right up there with the very best.
I enjoyed reading the latest edition as I have the past and love the great diversity in events and cars that are covered. Clearly a huge effort was made by Barry Edmunds in this edition. Congratulations!
I must point out one minor correction in the article on the 'Sandown Sprints'. The Lotus Europa (aka 'Lotus Valez' LOL) was a type '54' not a '47' as stated. Now that would be an expensive fix if it was a 47!
Keep up the great work team  ;)

Just caught up with the magazine - good effort Barry et all.  Having been there, done that in years gone by it's clear there has been a lot of effort into improving the magazine in recent years. It shows and is appreciated.

Thanks Angelo for your feedback, i have had various feed back about photos chosen for the magazine and the front cover, personally i think the front cover picture is the right choice because of it's orientation and content and it really shouldn't matter which Alfa Romeo makes the front cover, in my opinion, every car there on the day was and is beautiful and a true treasure to photograph. And like Stewart said the 8C has already featured on covers before, and i think it's great the 156 wagon made the cover because it is beautiful!  :)

I just want to say for the record it has been a challenge choosing photos for this magazine, because i take hundreds of photos each event, and there are so many stunning cars, so many colour choices, different lighting conditions, different angles etc.  but i try to to my best, and i am still learning, and i am sorry if anyone is upset by my photo choices for the magazine. I am happy to hear any feed back from anyone, because thats how i learn  :)

And i take the magazine to work and read it, and my fellow workmates cannot beleive such a slick looking magazine is a club mag, and not something done that you would pay good money at a Newsagent stand, thanks to everyone concerned, Colin.

Don't be sorry about anything Miss Alfa Sprint, haters are gonna hate no matter what you do.  You volunteer your time, and that should be enough for anyone.  I did the magazine for quite a few years, and I quickly realised that there will always be someone who thinks it could be done better.  99% of the time these are the people that never do any volunteer work for the club, but expect the world from the people that do.  You've just got to get on with it and do the job that you think best represents the majority of the membership.

Stu, Barry; the magazine looks great, well done.  But why no competition report?
