GT 3.2 V6 Brakes

Need to replace my rotors/disks & pads on my GT 3.2 V6.
Thinking about using drilled rotors/disks, any suggestions as to suppliers?

Wow, didn't know the Alfetta GT came in 3.2!!!!  Only kidding.

I know you mean the 932 series GT, the new model.

Your's are 384mm, I believe, with Brembo calipers, the bigger set up.

If the Alfa is only road use, normal discs are fine, drilled is not necessary, slotted maybe (if you want) but again not necessary.

Better to spend the money on better pads and fluid.

Agreed. 384mm rotors would be pumping so much air you wouldn't need anything fancy for road use. Just remember that for a road car,good braking on cold pads is paramount and the bias should be in favour of cold pad temps for maximum safety. If your pads are fading during road use, you know what to do. Slow down. But if your pads don't bite from cold, your car could undergo an instant makeover if the front end meets the arse end of a truck.

Pad specs are a never ending debate...

umm, no alfa delivered to australia i know of came in 384mm.

i think you mean 330mm as per upgraded GTA.

In any case, if for the road the stock brembos are indeed very good. If you want slotted, tarox and brembo are good brans but you pay a fair bit for it in 330mm guise. Also you may suffer from some 'thumbing' of the pad against the rotor.

Your best bet is oem discs + good pads. Not many alfisti who have tried the ds2500 pads have a poor word to say about them.

if however you do not want to risk any noise issues and you want sharp braking from cold, again, oem is a good bet.

 squealing shouldn't be an issue with oem parts, as long as the back of the pad is covered with a thin layer of brake pads specific grease and the disc and pad is properly run in to avoid glazing....
