Correct period radio for 67 1600 GTV?

Hi,
Seeking advice on the above as the car currently has a late 70s radio cassette. There well maybe a range of options but keen to hear any advice so that I can find and fit.

Phil, you should be listening to the exhaust not the radio. However if you must, in the 60's all the radios were Dealer fit 'am' things that were not much good and likely to be binned by now, as when cassette players came on board in the 70's everybody wanted one. The Euro style radios look a bit smarter but don't work with our wave length unless you find an Australian supply Mecedes-Benz type or the like but they are a bit messy to fit.
The best solution is a  'Classic Car Radio' from  Nostalgic Wireless Company in West Heidleberg. 94552083.
Alternatively 'HMV and Radiomobile Car Radio' from Classic Radiomobile Company in Sydney. Call John on 02-95832056. Both have the Euro look and have AM & FM and can even have I-pod adaptors I believe. Gary.

I said exactly the same to Tony tonight (listen to the exhaust note no the radio). He said the blank plates are very hard to find though!

Hi Phil - you might have seen these already - they're fairly generic looking,  but are pretty cheap compared to a period Blaupunkt or similar - and have some nifty bells and whistles too.

Phil, if you're looking for a 1600 gtv timber veneer blanking plate let me know, Ive seen a few floating around.

I replaced the dead radio-cassette player with an early 70s AM/FM push button radio (Blaupunkt Frankfurt).

It has good reception and a nice sound. When I want to listen to music I use a short range FM transmitter plugged in to my phone.
