Ok so it started as my winder cable needing replacing, now its turned into a hunt for a whole new door.

What I would like to ask is are all doors across the 105 series the same?

My aim is to find a suitable door that also has the window reg and cable/pulley system all intact.

My current door is riveted together which apparently is not common, and thus is making the cable fix very hard. Also it has some rust issues along the bottom so Im more inclined to fix everything at once with a whole door and all its assembly's.

Doesnt have to have the handles, my 1/4 window is fine, but the more complete the better it would be for me.

So what years should I be looking out for?

Thanks

Polyal

Should also mention its the drivers side that I need, colour doesnt matter as Ill get it respray to roughly match the rest of the car. A full respray is planned for next year but I dont want to drive a lollipop around.

No, there are different versions.  The 1600 cars and (at least) Series 1 1750 are the same, not sure about Series 2 1750, but they are different to the 2L cars.  I think the main diff is in the winder mechanism.  Is that vague enough?!

Series 2 1750 is indeed the same as 2l.

OK so now the issue is actually finding someone that has one.

Is there a wreckers that the forum has any links with?

Thanks guys.

Hi Polyal, indeed there are wreckers who might have what you need but I suspect that you will need to be pretty lucky.  I managed to obtain a drivers side door (bare shell only) from Milano Spares, it has surface rust, but that is all and is pretty straight.  I can't recall exactly what i paid for it but would have thought somewhere between $150-300 plus delivery to Tas.

I do recall though in talking to Marc, him saying while he had other doors they were all rusty. I saw one on ebay recently, but LHS, and it appeared to be pretty good condition, one or two minor rust bubbles, the guy was asking $350 for it and I was interested but a lack of spare funds dictated otherwise.

I would keep an eye on Ebay. You could also check with Rob Manning (Alfa_Veloce) in Sydney (Manning Motors) to see if he might have one.  I know he has some panels available.

Cheers for those names David..I have found one, I am yet to look at it yet but they want $600 for it...

Ouch, hope it is a really good door for that price.
