Flicking through channels on the telly tonight and I saw a 101 Spider!!!   Seems these guys will be using the car throughout the series and they are on the Amalfi coast next week.   The sightings of the Alfa are sparse, but worth it in any setting.  ;)

I've seen Antonio Carluccio in a previous show driving a red SIII(?) Spider.

Yeh, I did see that last night. Good to see a 101 in the program .

I thoroughly enjoyed it, but hey I love all things Italian, food, wine, Alfas, etc.  Had a meal once at his restaurant in London, damn it was good.  Drove down the Amalfi coast some years back on account of my younger sister getting married at Ravello which is just above the town of Amalfi. Spectacular, and the lemoncello there is to die for, icy cold.

So inspired by these guys and their cooking that I made a pretty good ragu the other night - love it! How is that coastline!

I saw the show by sheer chance whilst flicking thru the chanels and thouroughly enjoyed it. Loved the simplicity of the cooking, not like Master chef and MKR, those meals with a thousand ingrediants that none of us could hope to cook.

Also loved how the old heads blew off the Nuvo cooks and nicely told them that they should concetrate on cooking real Italian food before they decided to muck with the great Italian style cooking.

The freshness of the show (and the sort of Italian thinking that I've seen in my uncles and family members over the years) was great and I'm hooked; can't wait for the next episode.
