Hi , I'm trying to find where I can get a set of mag wheels for my 105 GT Junior.
I'm not sure what they are called locally, but on the following UK site they are called Superlight.

I can easily buy them from Superlight in the UK, but I'd rather try to support local companies first - if possible

Hi Sam, what size are you after? I have some 14" x  6 " if you are interested.

Sam

Hi, I was really after 15x7, but I guess it also depends on price, how much do you want for them? condition etc ?

Sam, they are available here in Aus.  The company called Performance Wheels makes them.  They have a website where you should be able to find out all you need. From memory, Bob Jane used to sell them, perhaps to order ???  This was a few years back when I was thinking of possibly buying a set for one of my cars.

The website has the list of the suppliers in each state.  I've got 2 sets of 16 x 7 for the Targa car and they have been very good, nice and strong.  They come in a few different offsets, I run a positive25 and still had to roll the guards also run a 4.5 of neg camber on the front and turning circle is woeful.

Definitely nice strong wheels, good price at approximately $200 per wheel for 15x7, easy to order and usually less than 6 week turn around. The only downside if weight is a concern is that they're bloody heavy. Not so good for circuit racing due to the weight but great road car wheels for the harsh Aussie conditions.

Cheers,

Sam

hi everyone and thanks for your help
I called Performance wheels, they want $246 each, but then they asked me what offset I wanted?
Aparently they sell 15x7 with 2 offsets

12mm Offset and 122 mm back space
or
25mm offset and 125 mm backspace.

My stepnose has Alfa 75 Calipers whcih I think woudl be wider so I guess its the 25mm clearance?

I need to get this right because once they are done, there is no returning them :-)

Careful here Sam, they are talking about positive offset so actually the 12 would give you greater clearance to your callipers (punch wheel offset into Google images).  I think your biggest problem will be guard clearance, like I said I run these wheels but the 16" x 7" and on the rear of the coupe, at full bump there is almost no clearance between the inner pannel and the outer guard so the offset is critical, again I run the 25p and with Volvo callipers there is plenty of clearance

I can confirm that 22P gives a wee bit of rubbing with a 185 tyre on an earlier low arch coupe, so 25p would be *alot* better than 12p unless you run the 67 homologation arch blisters on the back - Alfaholics used to have the best guide to offsets if you trawled their wheels, they don't give the detail so much anymore, but they offer their wheels in 15x7, 29p so I guess they offer a couple mm more clearance at full bump on the back, and 35p for sedans and low arch cars.

Sam,

Make your tyre/wheel retailer earn his cut and have them measure guard clearance and caliper clearance for you. I purchased the +12 15x7 for my old 75 Twinspark and had both guard and caliper clearance issues, running a Dunlop DZ03G 205/50/15 semi slick. I had to pull out the plastic inner guard and have the inside of the wheels machined. Having said that, they looked damned horny!

cheers,

Brent
