This just got posted over on Alfa BB. Great footage , turn the sound up . Can't wait for a comment from Greg Wyatt.

The car has a homologated GTAm engine and an Autodelta straight cut gearbox, so the sound is pretty special.

I think that's Richard Anderson at the helm and his navigator is Martin Darch. A beautifully prepared and unique (Oz) car. The low note of the engine belies the actual rpms being used. Almost as if it is a Sunday cruise but of course it's anything but.

Thanks Gully..

After watching it a couple of times then watching the tacho, he certainly keeps it in the power zone. As for the sunday cruise i was thinking  how many cars you would have to write off before you got that good. Rallying in forests looks very un forgiving.

Exactly Gully.

In my past life as a Mexican, I navigated for a friend who rallied a Datsun 1600 through the Victorian forestry and I can still vividly remember the chunder bags from the stress !!

..er I told you I was a whimp  ;D

was that the head sourced from Sordi's. the F.I.A. homologatede Grp. 2 must have the flares as per the Brut alfetta of Evan Green as well as the AP/Lockheed 4 spot calipers fronbt/rear and a seperate caliper on the rear inboard brakes for the hydraulic handbrake as well as 13' dia. wheels. have just seen a finished Grp. 2 with 16 valve engine built to period F.I.A. specs

It sounds pretty good. Wish i could keep my dashboard so clean. Don't know that he is driving 100% though. Look at the steering wheel, if he was on the edge the wheel would be a whole lot busier, he doesn't seem to ever "back it into corners". There is a lot of time to be saved by turning the car prior to the corner. I have to admit the change of surface from gravel to bitumen and back is a little unsettling, and the thing that got me... Where are his driving gloves? ARC is a national event, minimum clothing requirments include gloves for the driver, the co driver is exempt as they still need to turn pages and use a pencil.

Greg,
Just wondering do you have any video of your driving as you must be pretty good?

redalfaracing

ha ha,  pretty good ? No .  Simon Evans is pretty good. Geoff Portman is pretty good. Willie Orders is pretty good. Me, i'm just average.

Fair enough. I know Richard and Martin and they were being careful at IROQ. That car does have the Sordi head and I think the ex green delta close ratio box ( exceeding my tech knowledge here) it's a nice sounding machine. I believe they have the Group 2 body panels but have not put them on at this stage
Out of interest they are rebuilding Richards 75 that he came 10 th outright in the round Australia in 1995 to compete in the classic Silver Fern rally in NZ at the end of the year . That should be worth watching on those roads.
Cheers
Michael

As i said. Not 100%, taking carefully lines. If you watch the in car me someone having a real dip in a rwd, you see much more scenery to the sides especially on the entry to corners. Done right you should see straight up the road from the apex.  That is why you run rear bias.
Nice car though.  i would like a 2 litre like that. Way over my budget i'm afraid.
