1975 Alfetta GT

After 7 ½ years of ownership, a change in priorities has me putting this car on the market. The car has performed admirably and reliably for me over that time, never letting me down. It will, I am sure, be the source of many great experiences and memories for its next owners as it has done for me.
Being a car of advancing years, it should be considered a given that it will require ongoing TLC. Any prospective buyer should make their own assessment of the car, as although I will describe the car to the best of my abilities, I am not a mechanic. I am an enthusiast. Therefore, there will be faults and items that I am not aware of (or cannot see!).
Firstly, yes, it does have rust, which will need to be repaired (at least cosmetically) to be able to re-register. The most significant area is in the lower Drivers side panel in front of the rear wheel, however the rust is not limited to this area. On the positive side, it is generally limited to the lower panels and does not appear to be affecting the windscreen pillars. It has had an older restoration, so I can’t say as to what is under the paint.
The interior is in generally good condition. There is a small tear in the driver’s seat which is under the seatcover. It’s not noticeable and was there when I bought the car. The door cards are not original GT, but they will be supplied with the car and are suitable for remanufacturing. The dash has no splits, but again there are signs of a previous repair. The centre console is not fitted, but comes with the car.
Mechanically, the car has been trouble free and the 1.8 is a great motor. I will miss its song from the trumpets on the Dellortos through the open dash air vent! It has been regularly been serviced by the local Alfa specialist (Peter Stapleton) who has a long history with this car, and who also rebuilt the motor for a previous owner (receipt included). I have had no hesitation ever of jumping in this car to travel long distances.  Invariably when it is returned to its shed at the end of the day, another several hundred K’s have gone on the clock, and the smile lines in my face have set deeper..
The car currently has Simmons wheels fitted, but  will be supplied with a set of the original period alloys. The Simmons wheels are available for separate sale by negotiation.
The car will NOT come with registration or plates.  I may deliver the car if you live in reasonable traveling distance from me. (Any excuse for one last drive!)  However, the plates will then be removed.
I’m sure that there is a lot I’ve forgotten & I’ll be happy to answer questions or email photos (mine are too big to post here). I will also be eBay listing this very soon.

I can email photos on request.

Hmm, seem to be the only one posting replies to my own thread  ???

Just "bumping".

I've now sold the Cream GTV & the 2 "spares" cars. Still looking for a good home for this one. (BTW, I will be able to put the new owner in touch with the purchaser of the spares cars, who coincidentally happens to be the son of a former owner of this car. Small world!

Cheers, Craig
