Good way of going to Maccas!, the 155 was a very good car, could never understand why the pre 1992 Alfa Romeo Australia didn't wait for the 155 and 145 & 146, range to be released as they would have sold good, as opposed to throwing their arms up in the air, saying its all too hard, and creating a lot of bad will and buggering off, leaving us loyal Alfa Romeo drivers in the lurch, Colin.

I always liked Q4s - a cross between two of my favourite cars - 155 and Integrale.

Colin, I sometimes wonder how Alfa's brand image would be in this country if they continued sales and support uninterrupted through the 1990s. Reading european car magazines from the era it seems that Alfa hit a sweet spot around the time the 916 GTV/Spider were released, with the 16v TS 155 and 145/146. Its a shame that Australia as a whole missed out on this era. The 155 is a nice bridge between the 75 and 156 and in a way I find it takes some of my favourite character attributes of both.

The previous mob, Alfa Romeo Australia did untold damage to the marque by pulling out, sure the 16 valve 33 and 75 were getting a bit long in the tooth in 1992, but the 164 was going ok, and it would have been only 2 years until they could have got the 145-146-155 series cars which would have been good sellers, to their credit, ATECO brought back goodwill and trust that the previous lot had flushed down the toilet, they got all these good cars, [145-146-155], in New Zealand, and they sold ok, why not Australia?, Colin.

Why do you say that Colin?  As far as I'm aware those cars weren't 'good sellers' anywhere in the world, why would it be any different in Australia?  The only good I can see if they had brought them in is that we'd have a far greater range of Alfas to chose from for the shitbox rally.  Have you seen a 146?  That is honestly one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen.
