The website has been the victim of a hack several times over the past month. A vulnerability in the software used on the website is the likely culprit.

Work is underway at the moment to upgrade the site, and is progressing at a rate faster than a reflection of your subscription fees to use the site.

A hack, not a virus, is redirecting the users browser to dodgey sites.

When you have an issue like this (where the browser is redirected), shut your browser immediately (as the destination website may be the source of viruses) and contact me.
I can be contacted by

  • email (webmaster@alfaclubvic.org.au), or
  • using the "Report to Moderator" functionality within a topic (if the funtionality is unavailable as it is your topic, you could use someone else's topic), or as a last resort
  • reply to this topic (all replies will be deleted once read by an administrator).
.

I have removed previously created threads on this topic, as they are not constructive in alerting me to the actual problem and could give some people the wrong idea (your passwords are safe).

My advice from "Internet 101" is, everyone should have decent Virus/Malware protection installed, and/or you should be using a Mac.

Hope it goes well. If you're after a webserver security audit let me know.
