Cannot lock the car with the key ring

I have a problem with my 147 T Spark, I cannot lock the car with the key, I can open the boot with the key but cannot lock the doors. The battery seems fine and it clicks a couple of times and the indicators blink two times after trying to lock.
Can anyone help me?

If you use the key to try and lock it, does the lock barrel seem tight?, the lock barrel may need some silicone spray or powdered graphite, to loosen up, also you may have a seized up joint or out of adjustment pushrod in the central locking, also, just try a new battery in the remote, as they run flat, as they don't charge, when the key is in the ignition, Colin.
