Fuel Tank Location on a 75

I heard various stories, but looking at acquiring a 75 body shell to build up into a rally car.  Where was the fuel tank located?  I thoought it was under the floor, but I have also heard it was behind the back seats on later models?

"America" models, i.e. any model with impact absorbing bumpers has the tank mounted vertically behind the seat. So here in Oz that means 3.0l V6=vertical, twinnies and 2.5l V6 tanks are located under the floor of the boot.
