G'day all,

With the weekend coming up (and summer round the corner) I thought I'd ask for people's opinions and suggestions on best driver's roads within easy reach of Perth CBD. I don't know if anyone has come up with a similar list before, but always keen to hear of fun places to take the 156 for a spin (within posted speed limit of course!).

Needn't be huge long routes, just places where there is a reasonable mix of dips, hills, curves, corners and straights that don't take hours to get to - and preferably not too much traffic! Bit of scenery also helps.

To get things started:

Jarrahdale Rd (between SW Highway and Albany Highway).

Old Yanchep Road - Two Rocks via Breakwater Drive (starting from OYR turnoff at Neaves Road at eastern end).

It has always been a favourite and now gets closed and used as a stage for Targa West, but Mundaring Weir Road between Mundaring and Kalamunda is amazing. Especially through Piesse Brook. There are hills, dips, a couple of hairpins and long curves. You don't have to be going too fast to enjoy it.

Cheers for that - will check it out.

Should organise a Sunday cruise around these roads for the West Australian Alfa Club, Colin.
