Take it to an Alfa Romeo mechanic, even if its a bit out of your way, as opposed to someone experimenting on your car at your expense, make sure the Alfa Technition has an Alfa diagnostic tool which will get to your problem quickly, look at the service providers in the Queensland club supporters page, if you are a newbie with 156's keep an eye on the oil levels and cambelt change intervals, Colin.

Hi there,

Try Cameron Wright from Automotion (07 3256 1966). He works on my 156 and does a fantastic job.

Other advertisers in the club magazine may well have similar diagnostic tools and 156 experience but Automotion is the only crew I've taken my 156 to.

Put it on a tow truck. It'll save you money in the long term.

Gday mate.Sounds like it is your throttle body(common problem) but you really need to get it to someone with late model alfa experience to confirm.
Cheers, Cameron.

You may have already got the problem sorted, but Garry Cr(oo)ick has just opened an Alfa franchise at Noosa - beware though, he's not cheap.
