Hi Guys
Well, it had to happen, my beloved GTV6 made it home yesterday on the back of a flat bed.
Red light came on for temp just before getting to work, pulled over the check, no water and a leak from the motor.
Filled her up and made it to work without a red light, but on further checking there was a horrible grindy sound from the water pump, and a leak equivalent to 5 pints of VB coming from the vicinity of the water pump. I suppose 22 years out of a water pump is not bad.
I checked my trusty pdf manual, and apparently you need to take off the timing belts to do the water pump change (what the!!)
Anyway, parts are ordered and I will be attempting this repair soon.
Any tips or words from the wise to a first timer.
I am confident in my ability to do the job, just thought there maybe a gotha or two to avoid.
catch ya
Shane

The worst part about that is the "I told you so" look in the eye of she who must be consulted!!
By the way Shane, great article in C+S. I really enjoyed it!
No probs Phil Glad you enjoyed the article.
The look in her eyes was "now you need to rely on me"
After a number of "discussions" about the fact that she was not allowed to drive the GTV6, I bought her a RAV4, which she loves.
But of course, now I need to rely on the Boss for a lift here or there.
Hopefully this will only last for a weekend and the new water pump and mighty machine will be roaring around by Monday.
Catc ya
