Title: Mystery oil reservoir
Post by: Davbaz on May 10, 2014, 10:43:52 PM
Hi, just bought a 156 Selespeed (I know, I know, but it's too late as it's in my garage). Anyways, as I'm looking into the engine bay I can see the power steering fluid res' on the driver's side, the brake fluid res' on the passenger side. Then, on the passenger side of the battery (almost above the wheel), there's another non-descript reservoir with a black cap and a breather pipe coming out of the top. The reservoir (or bottle) is located beneath a black plastic cover.

Can someone tell me what this bottle is for? It's empty right now and I'd very much like to fill it up, but I don't know which fluid to use!

Its for the selespeed, have a look in your owners manual, my 156 hasn't got one due to lack of Selespeed, just the blank, Colin.

Thanks, Colin. Got it. Must be the hydraulic fluid for the actuator. Cheers
