I have had the problem where my selespeed goes from 2nd gear to 4th gear, skipping 3rd, then into Neutral. I had 2 mechanics look at it but despite work that they have done to it, the problem is still there. The message I get is 'HAVE GEARBOX CHECKED' but according to my mechanic, nothing was detected when he ran some diagnostic tests. I have to take it back next week so that they can run further tests but I thought I should ask for help online as I am completely stressed out by this situation. Has anyone experienced the same problem? Or does anyone know of a reliable alfa mechanic in Sydney who knows their stuff?
Have a look at the New South Wales Alfa Romeo owners club Service Providers and make sure they are an Alfa Romeo Specialist, normal mechanics don't know these cars, so you need a place with all the Alfa Romeo diagnostic Tools, Colin.
