One of my HID headlamp globes is failing - orange / pink colour light!
I want to swap globes from left to right to confirm problem is globe and not the igniter / ballast. However the metal clad connector on the braided / sheathed cable won't bugde. Is there some trick to disconnectng the globe from the cable or do I apply more brute force? There doesn't seem to be a retaining clip or slide lock. Am I missing something? Is a special release tool required?
Any advice greatly appreciated!
Colin
All sorted. Application of marginally more brute force did the trick! Often my problem is too much mechanical sympathy. The D1 type connector seems to be a simple push fit.
Was it quite an easy task? Did you need to disconnect the battery at all?
