Title: New to forum and to Alfas
Post by: Korvani on September 01, 2007, 11:30:47 AM
Hi All,

I've just bought myself my first Alfa and I'm loving it. It's a 2002 GTV V6. I live near the Dandenongs and I am itching to go for a run up the hills (as soon as time permits).
I bought her from a dealer so I have 3 months warranty. I'd like to know if there is anywhere i can take her to get a list of things I should get done under warranty.
She is in immaculate condition and purrs like a kitten, but better safe than sorry.

Thanks
Korvani

Nice GTV....I really want a set of those wheels for my 156 V6!

Have a look at the Sonsors page http://www.alfaclubvic.org.au/content/view/20/33/ (http://www.alfaclubvic.org.au/content/view/20/33/) for an Alfa specialist near you to give her the once over. Cambelts must be changed religiously on schedule otherwise you risk major engine damage. For the V6 I think it is 3 years or 60,000km, whichever comes sooner. Also, if the oil hasn't been changed in the last 6 months (regardless of the km's) do that also using Selenia or Castrol Edge Sport 10W-60 synthetic oil (Lance Dixon used the Castrol in mine).

Other than that, enjoy!

Hi Korvani,

Welcome to the forum.  I have your twin.  It's a great colour and and changes across the range from quite purple to almost black depending on lighting conditions.  I am not aware of any others the same in Melbourne. Come along to some Alfa Club events and enjoy the great variety of cars that the enthusiasts enjoy so much. We had a drive through the Dandenongs and lunch a couple of months ago that attracted about 25 Alfas.  When we meet we can compare experiences and I can tell you about the few changes I have made to make my car even more enjoyable.

Regards,
John

Thanks guys,

I got the dealer to change the belts before i picked it up so that's a weight off my mind. I did look at one other that was the same color but had a red interior. It wasn't in as good a condition so I'm very happy that this one came up for sale when it did. I'm looking forward to going to a meet but it might be a while before i can spare the time. Thanks again for responding.
