We have a situation where we have been invited to assist some members set up a Gippsland Chapter. This would operate similar to the Goldfields or Alpine chapter where throughout the year there may be a breakfast function, the occasional drive and a pub dinner on a needs basis.
And the club can arrange a joint function say an EMR to Gippsland for a lunch together at a pub.
More particularly, I am already committed to working with the Register Captains to continue their good work.
So I am looking for someone who may like to go for a drive and give a bit of Admin support and held develop our potential Regional Convenors and new rural members.
There are quite a few out there and we do not want to leave them out of the loop.
Anyone who may like to organise activities and go for a bit of a drive in regional Victoria - please call me !

Next Sunday when i go on the cruise to Maldon, we will catch up with the Goldfields chapter of the Alfa club and meet up for lunch and lots of talking, this sort of situation would be great if it could be repeated in the Gippsland chapter, when we used to run at the old Morwell hillclimb, we always would get Alfa drivers come over for a look and a chat and the same at Phillip Island, it would be great to have a Gippsland division next year, so we could all meet up some where for a Giipsland Cruise, how about it Gippslanders, who wants to be the first president?, Colin.
Thanks for the note Colin.
There is a club member there with a really original red GTV6 by the name of Geoff Dean who has volunteered to orgainise a few activities there but we need a few people to get this off the ground .... an article in the local paper followed by a breakfast meet to plan a few local events.
I am looking at some support to get things going.
Cheers
Paul, you have a lot to say but then again you do a lot and make things happen.
I suppose a key point here is that you started alone - with you as the only member and now you have over 20 people turning up to a function (admittedly there is always good food and wine but that's not the point ) !!!
There must be some real enthusiastic types in Gippsland, i remember being at the old Morwell Hillclimb circuit and a CONVERTABLE Alfasud turned up on a nice day, with 4 people in the car out for a nice Sunday drive, the car was a 'homer', [done at home], but it seemed ok and it was a blast because no one knew what it was, i think it was about a 1975, irredesant 'Frank Musco' green, i have never seen it again, has anyone else seen this car, and know its history, if there was a Gippsland chapter someone would know of this car, Colin.
Geoff is a long time AROCA member - it's great to hear of him again. Welcome back Geoff!
Perhaps some sort of club develeopment officer to keep up the momentum would be a move forward to support what we do. Will memtion it to the committee.
I am just running out of time as focusing on a few good register activities and car displays for the next few months.
Cheers
