Title: bad fuel consumption for alfa romeo 147
Post by: usshellfire on March 25, 2012, 12:43:12 AM
i just purchased a 147 a month ago. its a 2002, 2liter selespeed model.

over this past month, i have been monitering the fuel consumption and was shocked when i realised that its a measly 7.4km/liter or 13.5l/100km.

i've checked online and many sites state an average of between 10 - 12km/l or 8.3l/100km

should i be worried about this? what could be causing such lousy fuel consumption especially when i keep my RPM below 3000.

and if it is faulty, which workshop would be recommended in the caulfield/brighton area?

Hello usshellfire, this post is in the wrong section it should be in the 147-156 catergory, it could be a number of things, air flow meter, exhaust cat, lambda sensor, blocked air filter, etc, have a look at our sponsors page and choose a Alfa Romeo service provider thats closest to you, and make sure they have the Alfa Romeo diagnostic computer, let us know how you get on, Colin.
