Road / Sprint Tyres

Hi all,

thinking about shoeing the Super with something a little more suited to the odd track day than the Marangoni Versos  i have on at the moment.  (you could smell them melting in the pits at Winton last year...)

Of those I've spoken too - at the upper end of the game seem to be the Neova AD08s for great grip - faster wear,  versus the Dunlop Z1s for a few seconds less grip (I love how it's quoted in seconds)   but with much better wear rates.

I use the car as a daily,  and would hope to hit maybe 5 or 6 sprints a year,   and seriously know I have plenty of places to improve on times without worrying about tyres..

So curious if you have any recommendations / thoughts around those requirements - something that can take some punishment on the track (with my skill level - most of it sideways probably )  but that will hang on for 6 - 12 months commuting as well.   I guess that puts me at the harder wearing end of the R tyres, or something at the upper end of road tyres ?   (parading my ignorance a bit here i know..)

another limiting factor is the 195/55 tyre size - Supers are a bit tight at the back.

Appreciate any thoughts and advice folks.

Cheers,
Scott

If the budget stretches i would be going the two sets of wheels option.
