Oh yeah don't forget front-end alignment. That's another kettle of fish. Camber adjustment, toe-in, toe-out! :o That's right there is one school of thought based on measurements in the factory manual that suggests these cars should have toe-out.

All part of the joy of ALFAs.

Al Campbell-rear needs to be about 2cm higher than front and not the other way around. According to my Alfa performance Manual... :)

Before contemplating lowering any transaxle simply for looks, you need to answer two questions for yourself:-

1 What am I going to do to prevent my sump from getting a hole in it?
2 How am I going to modify my exhaust system from becoming flat on the first contact with a simple speed bump?

The real challenge is to make the wheels look tucked up into the guards but retain the working height of the car for ground clearance purposes on our beaut Aussie roads.

Alfa mania, you may well be right. People talk about the right height endlessly.

MD good points. With my A-arms just about level, My stock front spoiler no longer scraped on all speed humps in my area, though I still took it easy over them after it was a speed hump that taught me that some previous owner had reattached it with cable ties. Have a look under the front and see how close the level of the spoiler lip and the sump is.

My exhaust had a whopping great flat spot in it (not my effort).

thanks everyone for the replies and advice....i like the idea of a slightly lowered rear end but maintain the front as is - this would minimise any exhaust damage and improve any body roll at the rear i'd imagine....
