Hey guys
As you know we've got back town to Tassie for Targa again!  Doesn't matter how much prep you do there are always drama's, i noticed that a couple of my new tyres were not the correct profile as we were getting ready to leave for the boat, but after a couple of phone calls and an unplanned "special stage" between Eltham and Brunswick, we got that sorted.  The old man's clutch issue is very strange, but i think we're on top of that now
Apart fro that the cars are through scrutineering and ready to go, its the prologue tomorrow and then the real event gets under way on Wednesday.
We've got the full range of spares in the trailer again
engine
gearbox
rear axle
extractors
radiator
clutch assembly
piston and liner
but no clutch master cylinder  ;)
I'll try and keep posting a few updates, and if your interested in progress the targa website updates results throughout the day.

cheers guys

Colin, Heaps of good luck to you and your Dad (and any other competing Alfisti) in Targa 2014. Fingers crossed that you won't need any of the spares.

Col, No one could accuse you of not being ready. Only step beyond how prepared you look, is to get rid of the trades trailer and put a spare 105 on a car trailer ;)

Word is one broken foot and some damaged pride.  Otherwise both OK.

Best wishes to you both and all the support crew we know you will have around you.

Hi guys,
Yea not an ideal end to TT14. Was a massive shunt, luckily we were both ok, I got out with nothing, unfortunately stoops, my navigator broke 3 bones in his foot, but pretty minimal considering the damage to the car.
Car is due back next week, so it'll be a matter of stripping out all the running gear and finding a new she'll, all the corners, engine, gearbox and diff looked like it survived, interior took a beating as the car was pretty much ripped in half
Cheers

So happy to hear you are both relatively OK. Looks like your roll cage did a good job in minimising damage.

What a sad end to a great car but I'm glad your both ok.

Bloody Hell !!!, Really good to hear you are both O.K. I can tell it's a huge impact and your going to be sore for a while. Take it easy, your health is way more important, a car you can easily rebuild.

Sorry to hear you guys had a nasty shunt! Hope the foot and the pride are ok!
We were lucky enough to plan a holiday to Tassie around the start and finish of the Targa, the car's looked great at Georgetown, but there were a few missing at Wrest Point. :-[

Hey Guys
thanks for all your comments and thoughts, we all appreciate it.

Just a quick thought, after a crash like that you really take stock of all the safety gear that is used in different events.  We know rallying has certain risks involved and with that in mind we didn't skimp on gear.  Both Paul and I had new the new generation light weight helmets, HANS devices, 3 layer suits, 6 point harness, good seats properly mounted, and of course an extensive roll cage with FIA approved padding, if we hadn't had all, it might have been a different story.

Anyway, thanks again guys, and if you have any leads on a new shell let me know!

cheers
