Western Australian Formula 1 driver Daniel Riccardo  has won his first Grand Prix at the Canadian Grand Prix at the Gilles Villineuve Circuit, this was the place for the 1967 World Expo where the Alfa Montreal was first shown to the world.
Daniel qualified 5th on the grid, 2 places beind his team mate Sebastian who?, and worked his way to the lead passing an ailling Nico Rosberg in a Mercedes.
As if there is not enough reasons to start following Formula one again, here is another, go Dan!, Colin.

It's also available on demand on the TenSport website.  Watched it online last night, a cracker of a race.

Former grand prix driver and team owner Gerhard Berger has stated that Daniel Ricciardo is a future world champion, they just need the Renault motor to produce a few more GG's, Red Bull obviously have started a rumour that they are looking at Volkswagon Formula 1 engines in the future to spur Renault to matching Mercedes power plant outputs, i think that the 'Mercedes' engines are still built in England by Ilmor engineering.
The top money earners in sport ratings have come out, Top earner in Formula 1 is Lewis Hamilton at 32 million fllowed by Fernando Alonso at 31 million, 4 time world champion Sebastion Vettal is living on struggle street at only 19 million, Colin.

Dan has been the only driver to stop the Mercedes juggernaut with 2 wins this year, Sebastian who?
The Hungarian race was a cracker, its repeated again, its the kind of race that makes you know why you love motor racing and stay up late to watch it with 2 hours sleep, Colin.

Except, according to the Television, Radio and newspapers, the British Empire games are more important than someone competing in an elite class at the top of his game, Formula 1 has been great this year, so many curved balls being thrown around, Dan is great, but Alonso is dragging that Ferrari way past where it should be, Colin.

100% on Alonso's work Colin.  That guy is wasted over at Ferrari this year; shame he didn't go to Williams instead of Massa but who was to know they would be so competitive this year after so many years in the doldrums.  Not taking anything away from Massa though.  Nice guy but not in the same class as Alonso.

But who would have thought that Willliams would do any good this year?, after a different engine every year for the past 10 years, they seem to have some stability with Formula ones best engine, at times they are the second best team out there, Mc Claren seem to be biding time until they get the new Honda Turbo motor, Massa never seemed to fully recover from being hit on the helmut by a spring of Ruben Barrechello's car all those years ago.
Can you imagine if Formula 1 was run the same way as The British Empire games, you would have 4 drivers at best, Daniel from Australia and Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Button and the other English driver representing England, Colin.
