Cheers Andrew. A sports wheel will look good on the 164 I'm sure, especially as it has a much more modern interior than my GTV with no wood grain trim (real or fake).

My only advice would be to spend the money to get a decent classic style one with real leather (or Alcantara) and stitching on the rim - instead of polyurethane with leather-look "grain" like mine!

You may also have to do some fiddling about with the horn connection.

Interestingly, even though my wood rim is thinner than the sports wheel, I feel like it actually has improved the feel on hard cornering because there is no longer any give in the rim. Larger diameter has also made it easier to park - (no power steering!).
Now:    2002 156 GTA
            1981 GTV
Before: 1999 156 V6 Q-auto
            2001 156 V6 (sadly cremated)

Andrew,
I have a Momo 164 hub available if you are after one.
Left over from my 164 days.

Glad to hear that you got it all done, I'm looking at getting mine off to try and touch up the chips on it, prefer the wood look to say a leather cover but each to their own, cheers.
