Cars and Coffee in Irvine is gradually resurrecting itself in a new location after closing in it's former home at the Ford lot.  Today there was a great turnout including 3 manufacturer owned cars.  One of which was this nice 2016 pre-production US Spec MX-5 Miata, ironically parked next to a '67 Pontiac GTO 442.  Big and heavy vs. small and light.

The MX-5 was accompanied by 4 R&D team members, including the West Coast Director of R&D who turned up in his own 993 Turbo :).

There was also this very nice 4C on Michigan manufacturer plates.  If you are coming to SoCal any time and have a Saturday morning free it's well worth the short drive from LA and I'm more than happy to meet you there and introduce you to a few folks.

Looks like its back to the future for the new MX 5 . Curb weight only slightly above what it was in 1989 . Indications are all  pricing will  be very competitive.

Bloody big turn out for coffee & cars. Do they fence off a suburb on something???.

Agreed, really competitive pricing. $32k in Oz?  Wow!

C&C is held in a shopping centre car park now, down in Aliso Viejo.

I think this was at the last C&C too - neat idea : http://www.speedhunters.com/2015/06/the-1960s-f1-car-remastered/

Edit: no, different C&C, but nonetheless I want to drive one...
