156 door trim question

Looking for tips on how best to re-attach the faux-leather trim in the middle of doors - it's started to come loose on both LHS doors.

Tried spraying fabric glue on the back of the material, but the foam that it would otherwise stick to on the door card is dry and crumbly, so won't stick.

Same approach (removing insert panel) across a bunch of models if you want to do it right, suggest you buy a respected trim adhesive and seek out a matching quality foam.

You absolutely do need to remove your old foam and glue; they will inhibit you from achieving a durable repair. Once you've scraped away much as possible, use lacquer thinners and shop rags (plus chemical proof gloves) to rub/wipe the rest off.

If it helps motivate, once the subject insert panel is removed, you can refit the door card for the time being; it's a bit redneck but keeps the door functional in and out.
