Hi everyone, time to move on our much, much loved 156 JTS Sele - it's a Distinctive, the model beneath the Ti so 17" alloys, sideskirts, sunroof, leather.

I bought this while looking for a 159 because the test drive made me grin, then impulse bought a 159 anyway and this became the daily for the missus. As such it's had an outdoors life and is well overdue a cosmetic refresh. We got it at 100,000km in 2018 via Cilebertis and became its third owners, kilometres are up to 170,000 now.

Service and repairs at Cilebertis and I've done minor oil changes every 10,000km in between visits (Penrite tenths and OEM filters). Next service is due at 177. I'll have to check the age of the timing belt but I suspect it's two years out.

In the last two years it has had a new Selespeed accumulator, new CVs, boots and 2nd hand driveshafts, all new front control arms, all new shocks front and back, new clutch and oil seals around there, timing belt, auxiliary belt, oil pressure sensor, thermostat and water pump, kumho rubbber all round, new tie rod ends, new Selespeed pump relay, power steering line, sun visor, new battery, all new brakes and pads.

I've not looked at the receipts, but I dare say we've put >$8k into it in recent vears, and while I love it to pieces my life is at the point where I don't have time to replace pieces.

Obviously, it needs paint and some TLC for the carpark damage to the back and I've considered this in the asking price given the maintenance condition, can supply details of a guy who can panel and paint for good prices - it'll just need a new tail light lens for parts the boot and bumper are easier to smooth than re-fit.

Overall, awesome car, no weird electrics, oil consumption is well within specs for the JTS and interior is great for age, soft plastics have some scratches and the boot rubber took a cut from the pram but leather is really good.

What will need to be addressed in the future;

Injectors and O2 sensors have been okay thanks to regular liquimoly additives, 98 octane and my right foot, but usually up around 200,000kms the carbon catches up with them and they need cleaning or replacement. Cleaners, quality fuel and the occasional Italian tune up are key to longevity with these. Still gets 9.61/100km around town and in the 7s on long hauls.One of the CV joints is clicking in protest again, the eibach pro springs the previous owner installed are too low for them - Cilebertis suggest changing springs to OEM Alfa GT to ease up on them.

It probably needs a new variator next belt change because Alfa.

We replaced the sele accumulator but the pump on these is rumoured to get tired around the 200k mark, I've heard different prices so can talk shop with interested parties.

Spare 2nd hand sideskirts included in sale as the originals had damage to the underside when we bought it, never got around to fitting.

Asking $5,000 ono

Hopefully that's a comprehensive overview of the car but reach out with any questions and we'll chat, price is only slightly negotiable due to completed works, cheers
