Chrysler Reveals Future Product Plans - and Images

DETROIT — In its Tuesday filing with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Chrysler provided details on a number of future products, including images of the modestly redesigned 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2010 Chrysler 300. Also bundled in the so-called viability plan are references to such future Fiat models as the Alfa Romeo Milano and Giulia.

The Grand Cherokee and 300 are being freshened inside and out and will be available with Chrysler's new Phoenix V6. The engine will find its way into other Chrysler products and will be offered to Fiat.

Chrysler said it may sell up to seven Fiat Group models in the U.S., including two future Alfa Romeo cars that could be built at Chrysler plants in North America. The Milano will replace the Alfa 147 in Europe in spring 2010, while the Giulia will succeed the 159 in 2011.

Chrysler also could sell versions of the Alfa MiTo, as well as the Fiat 500, Grande Punto and Panda.

Last month, Chrysler's parent Cerberus said it would give Fiat a 35 percent stake in Chrysler in exchange for access to engines, platforms and vehicles. Fiat would have the option of raising its stake to more than 50 percent. Fiat's participation is dependent on Chrysler's securing additional U.S. government loans.

Interesting info.  This has now made it to the Page 38 of the Cars Guide with headline of  'Milano, Gulia, out in the wash'.

So the MI.To has been launched in the UK so the right habd drive models should find there way down here some time this year. With the left hand drive models, the Milano will replace the 147 this year in Europe followed by the Giulia & and the off roader.

Something to look forward to.
