Hey all, I love Alfa Romeo they are the best

I found this Alfa Romeo 2004 156 jts manual for sale with full service history
And it's very well looked after; it has over 80000 kms on the clock

My question is ,how much should I pay for it. And should I buy it

I guess in a way it depends on what the owner is asking for it and how much are you prepared to pay.  To give you some ideas.   I have a '03 JTS manual sportwagon, it has '99K km on the clock.  I bought it approx 2 years ago and paid $20K.  It had 89K km on the clock when I bought it.  I wouldnt let it go below $16K.  A mate of mine, however, bought a manual sedan, with similar Kms on the clock but a number of minor blemishes to the bodywork and paid $12K a few months back.  HE got a bargain as the owner was desperate to sell.  There are heaps out there to choose from.

In general terms from my observations a '04 model of the spec you are talking of should definitely be worth in my mind, and based on my observations of cars for sale in the usual places, (ebay, carsales etc) between $12K - 19K.  If you can get it for cheaper than that you have a bargain, but I wouldn't pay more than $19K.  Good luck.

David has put up a good summary here.   Nothing is better than getting someone who understands the car as their advice can save you time and money.

I would add that a prepurchase inspection by an Alfa Specialsit would be essential as it covers all bases and for say $100 you have a good idea for the future RWC to be done by them as well.  It helps with negotiation in the purchase.
