Um I score for most smoke produced    The Green 1750 for those that were there, I was late finishing work so I got there a bit late and left the camera at home, got a very bad video on the phone. The only thing that I have done to the car since I took posession a few weeks ago is a new set of plug leads so I was really happy that it didn't misfire under load and now I have a base line to work with.
Produced 79.4 hp (59.2kw) @ 4851rpm and 138.6 Nm @ 2233rpm

No photos sorry, but here's my sheet. 1.8L alfetta with a good set of extractors and 10548's. 96.7HP and 132Nm of torque. Waaaaaaaaay better than what i was expecting. I had a great time in general. again thanks to all involved.

unfortunately, i missed it because i was working (interstate). but i too am interested to hear of results. 'well done' (if that's the right thing to say!) to the above.

i have, however, recently had my V6 GT on the Beninca dyno, doing some before/after power runs, following some exhaust upgrades. the best i've had is 144.1kW at the wheels, and 238.6Nm. thought that was pretty decent; car has high flow cats, foam drop-in air filter, and rear muffler upgrades. next upgrade is equal length front pipes, then back to Beninca i think, for another run.

Hmm - wondered why she felt a little poorly around Sandown.  I'm quite pleased really - still managed a reasonable time.  Off to Bruno's to find out where the rest of the horses went to...

I think the results will get published in the magazine next quarter...

Hi all,
got a few videos from the day, I'll post them up.

I made 95HP (71.1kw) @ 5100rpm, but I lost the printout so I can't remember exact torque figure but I think it was around the 140 mark, definitely @ 2100rpm though.

Not bad, was hoping for maybe a little better considering the amount spent on my rebuild. But I question the accuracy of the dyno...how old is that thing??

on a side note i just couldnt let this comment pass.
is actually not that old. although me personally, i didnt think the way horsepower and kilowatts were measured actually changed in the past few years to warrant a new dyno. lmao as far as i know, could the measurements have changed and nobody told me? is all good, although one must now go back and question the integrity of the rebuild, was it really worth rebuilding to achieve what any standard 200 000km + engine could make???

Pity I missed the Dyno Day at Beninca's but must say that their dyno is one of the most accurate and advanced in Australia. I know the time, effort and dollars that went building and installing the dyno and is apparently equal to anything Holden or Ford have (opinion of a mate who is an engineer at Holden).

Unfortunately you can't question the accuracy of the results - just the condition of the motor being tested! From experience, engine rebuilds and modifications do not always result in improved power!

Hey guys,
A quick note of thanks to the organisers and Benincas for their time and ability to put a number of cars through the dyno so quickly with minimum fuss.
For interest sake my 105 (GTAM1) returned 126.5HP@6500 and peak torque was around 155nm@4500 and flat through to 6000. (I'll have to confirm the nm figure it's close to that my printout is not handy here at work).
Some fettling of the carbs and timing should liberate another 10 or so HP and some more with the removal of the fan (changing to thermo) and the fitting of an electric waterpump in place of the standard belt driven one.
When Vin @PACE built the engine street driveability was the focus. More 'aggressive' cams were considered for more power but driveability went out the window.

Hi all.

I'm hoping to run a list of the dyno day figures in the next magazine.  The good news is that I have all the data from Beninca, and can hopefully reproduce any graphs.  The bad news is that I assumed Beninca were entering entrant/car data at the same time, but unfortunately they weren't.

So I have a list of all the data produced on the day, but no way of matching it with owner/car.  Hence, I have given a list here of all the peak hp figures, and the approximate time (going off the data, don't know how accurate the clock is) they were produced, and the few cars that I know of.

So, if you recognise your hp figure could you please send me a PM or email to let me know your name/your car/any mods.  Also, if there is anyone there that you think might not read this forum, could you please pass on this message to them.
