Clutch slipping

I always thought the pedal engaged a little high on my "new" Alfetta, and sure enough it started slipping this morning. Just to double check before I order a new clutch, there isn't any adjustment in the system that could cause it to slip? I wouldn't think so being a hydraulic clutch, but had to ask.

Any ideas how long it takes to replace the clutch on these cars, assuming no hickups? I've only replaced the clutch on fwd cars before, at least this won't be a half engine out operation. Still not looking forward to it, I have grown to hate clutches...

If you haven't done it before and are not familiar with it all, i'd guess about two and half to three hours? Not really that hard a job, but lying on your back gets old pretty quick. If need be i'll explain in greater detail what has to happen?

I've found a few good writeups on how to do it Mat, so hopefully I'll get through it.

Aside from fitting issues, you may elect to have the flywheel lightened and rebalanced with the new pressure plate at the same time. Perfect time to do it. Even if you don't lighten the flywheel, balancing the new assembly and fitting new input shaft bearings at the same time is good insurance against vibration problems when you put it all back together again.

Too late! Clutch went back in over the weekend. Easier than I thought, except getting the ^%$^'ing exhaust off.

I am trying not to get carried away with this car, little jobs can turn into big jobs so easily. Just a few more details to be done to make the blue slip guy happy, and then I'll just drive it and fix things along the way. By nature I like to fix everything up 100%, but if I did that I'd never finish it. I already have my 77 GTV as a major project, and the plan is not to stall that project too much.
