Alfa Romeo has revealed its successor to the 147, the 2010 Alfa Romeo Giulietta, ahead of its unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show.

Lets hope that the new management at Alfa continue in the direction that the new Giulietta model looks to be heading.   

If it is even better in the flesh then this model has the hints (to me) of a current version of a 105 and I hope the interior is also made with less plastic!!

Well I suppose as the referrenced article below from Paul suggests that Alfa is going nowhere in the market place and positive future directions is also nowhere to be seen due to two camps within the organisation being at loggerheads. The future of the pure Alfa brand is tenuous indeed. It appears that the Ferrari /Maserati thinkers are at odds with the mass marketing Fiat based camp. No news there as that pretty much reflects the thinking on this site as far as I can see.

As for what I think of the car's external styling, well here's what a real Giulietta should look like.

I will leave the 105 lads to stick up for themselves..

It's just a name plate as it was to be Milano (except they are closing that facility and therefore workers don't like using the name). As for 105 "look" actually the MiTo is as close as you can find from today's offerings only because it has 2 doors (Giulietta 4).

Nothing wrong with the old Giulietta and nothing wrong with the new one either. Or some would say the 1954 was the right one. If we stayed stuck in one period we may have ended up still using magnetos instead of alternators, carburettors instead of EFI, distributors instead of coils, H pattern instead of flappy paddles!!!

But if you prefer those to progress then thats fine too...I'm sure there are also neandertal's that believe rubbing sticks is better than a match or a lighter  ;D just like some prefer to hold their stick instead of using paddles LOL
