My creaking rear end!

Hey, I've had my low kms (75,000kms), year 2000, TS spider for a few months now.  The drivers side rear suspension is creaking like hell!  I've read conflicting things that either say it can be lubed or that you need new parts.  Which is true?  If it can be lubed, how? Is that an easy job?

While I'm here has anybody bought the workshop manual CD's that are for sale on Ebay?  Are they any good?

Thanks!

Sounds like that would be correct John.  As I mentioned on another thread I have a squeaky front bush in my 156 at the moment which I have been told is a swaybar bushes. Will get that sorted shortly.

So I need to buy a ?  Can I fit it?  What's it gonna cost (roughly)?  Big job?  Etc.

Sorry guys.  I'm more of a motorbike tinkerer than a car man and I'm a complete Alfa newbie!

Hi,

popular remedy is rebushing using powerflex bushes. These are available in the UK fairly readily. Would think that most independent Alfa service garages would fit them.  Have heard they can be difficult to fit.

Standard rubber bushes are also available, I'm lead to believe they are more compliant than the poly bushes. That being said there are different grades of poly available.

However standard bushes on the 3.0 V6 are metal, which is something to consider. Poly or rubber would likely be a retrograde step in comparison (nothing to back this up other than gut feel, and that they were factory fitted).

Cheers.
