Hello out there from a new 105 owner

Greetings Alfaholics!
I have been on the prowl for some time for an honest 105 Series, so I am thrilled to have just secured a very pretty little 1750 GTV. My fist drive was the 220km drive home and it was done with a huge grin on my dial not a once with a thought drowning out the engine noise with the sound system.
As with all old cars, I have an ever-growing list of items to attend too, but I look forward to tinkering (when not wrestling with the kids and renovating), joining the register and enjoying the new lady in my life.

we'll even tell you where to go! (Ummm .. you know what I mean!)

Sounds like you have a nice car there so first thing you need to do is put up some pics so we can all "share"

Thanks for the welcome note.
I'm developing quite a list at the moment of parts required. I'm amazed by how well 105 owners are catered for in terms of suppliers and parts. Not sure my pockets are deep enough for some required items via the mainstream suppliers so I will definitely be putting the feelers out for some good second hand alternatives in due course.

nice car twistybits,but seems to be missing bumper bars front and rear,and gold four leaf clovers on the C pillars,otherwise a very nice car.    I hope you enjoy the 1750 GTV series of cars,which in my opinion are the best and the sweetest of all the GTVs,but others may not agree with me.   Cheers and happy mototing    PS.  I notice you also own a Giulia Super,the most iconic of all the 105 cars.

That's an excellent list of previous cars there "twistybits".  The only quibble would be the MG, but I see that you felt the need to qualify that anyway.

I have the bumpers and they are in great nic, but I just can bare to dress her at the moment............................she has such a great shape that she looks spectacular with or without. C pillar badge, boot lid 'Milano' badge and a 1750 steering wheel are on my current wanted list items.
I agree the Giulia Super is an icon. I adored my old one, however I owned it whist I was at uni and was penniless. The car suffered great neglect in the maintenance department and I spent a lot of time pushing the old girl. I have felt guilty ever since and would love to buy another one day. Talking about iconic cars, I notice you own a Goddess! I nearly convinced my wife tat it would make a great family car. We always get very excited when we see one floating down the road. I admire your bravery.

I had been watching this steering wheel on ebay. The 1750 steering wheel is the best, I just bought one to restore and put on my 67 GT Veloce project. They are quite expensive but this one is a good price.

where did you get the car from, and do you know any of it history

Hi Dehne,
The car is well traveled. It has lived in WA, Canberra, QLD and nov Victoria. It was previously owned by a QLD member who has owned in for about 2.5 years and has recently relocated to Bendigo. It was previously purchased in Brisbane from a chap named Dan Bartle who appears`to have owned the car since at least 1992 (oldest receipt that I can find). The car might have started life in WA as receipts for body work and engine rebuild (by Cilebert Motors) are from WA.
History prior to 1992 is a mystery, however it would be great to know where else she has lived.
I contacted CENTRO DOCUMENTAZIONE ALFA ROMEOand they indicated that the car was manufactured on the 27th April 1971 and sold on the 30th April 1971 to Alfa Romeo Australia. The car was originally painted ochre yellow (AR 109), with black tex interiors.
I'm actually a huge fan of Ochre giallo, so if I own her long enough, I would be tempted to take her back to her original colour.
