Hi all

Just replaced the dampers/shock absorbers in my GTV6 and I am very happy with the result.

I bought 4 Bilstein B4 dampers from EB Spares, $330 delivered.
The ones that came off the car might have been the originals, Spica stamped with Alfa Romeo. They didn't rebound at all after they were compressed and 1 or 2 of them looked like they were leaking fluid. Hardest part of fitting them was getting the old lock nuts off!!

The new dampers combined with new Pirelli P6000 tyres seemed to have transformed the handling of the car.

Its SOOOO good spending money IMPROVING the car as apposed to routine maintenance and repairs!

Hmmm, maybe some new rubber bushes next?

The originals would have been a purely hydraulic damper and won't self extend like the high pressure gas Bilsteins will.
