hi just purchased a 99 spider, but need to top up the hood oil
what type of oil should be used
1999 spider 916
1985 alfetta gtv6

depends on the type of hood that you have. Is it a macquarie park or mt druitt hood?

No Spidie, no need for apologise. Just playing around with ya. I'm assuming you're looking for engine oil???

There's never a stupid question, but plenty of smart arse replies (guilty ::)). The troops on this forum are very knowledgable, super friendly and willing to help, welcome aboard.

Here's a generic list for Alfa Lubrication. However, I'm sure some one with a tipo916 will confirm with you, otherwise get it from thehorses mouth, give Alfa dealer or local mech a call for recommendations. Whatever it is don't go cheap...

Engine Oil Capacities:
- 1.6/2.0 litre engine 4.5 Litres 10w40 (eg Selenia Oil).
- V6 3.2 litre engine, 5.5 Litres 10w40 or 10w60 (eg Selenia Oil).
1 litre of oil between min and max. (I think?)
Gearbox Oil Capacity: 2.0 Litres, 75w 90.
Power Steering: ATF Dextron II
Hydraulic fluid for Selespeed: Selespeed Oil
Fuel grade: 95 RON
Brake fluid: DOT 4
