WTB - 105 Series 1750/2000 GT

Hi All,

  I prematurely sold my '72 2000GT to go on an overseas work assignment that never eventuated a few months ago.
  I am now back in the market for one to take its place but cant seem to find anything worth while available.
  I am looking to pay good $ for a good car and not looking for anything that needs significant body work. Basically looking for one that has been partially/fully restored.
 
  If you know of any good/excellent condition vehicles that are for sale, please let me know. Only really interested in buying one currently located in Victoria, but would consider interstate if I can't find anything suitable locally.

Hey Joe, perhaps a dumb question but have you looked at carsales, there is currently 9 1750 GTVs listed for sale, sure the bottom end of the price range may not be up to what you are looking for but I would have thought there should be something to suit. I can't recall how many 2Ls there currently are listed but again I would have thought there should be at least one or two that might reach your expectations. There is also a 1750 on ebay listed. 

If you wanted an early GT instead of a later model, there is one on carsales listed, which is in fabulous condition.  I doubt you could fault it.

Do you still have the details of the person who bought it... perhaps buyers remorse is about to settle in as they discover the spendy joys of Alfa ownership. Circumstances change and the Alfa community is tight and honest in my experience - never know unless you ask

Hi David. Thanks for the advise but I constantly have an eye open on carsales to see what pops up. Currently only four 1750/2000's are for sale in Victoria, and they are not what I am looking for unfortunately. I have a little interest in a couple interstate, but before I fly over to see them, I want to make sure I have tried as much as possible to find one in Victoria.

Hi Craig. I sold the car to a very wealthy gentlemen from Sydney who was planning on paying someone big $$$s to restore it for him so that he can gift it to his daughter. I have thought about giving him a call, but to be honest the chances that he is concerned about the dollar part of running an alfa(he own a new GT3 Porche, 3 other luxury cars and about 15 motorbikes) is very low.

I am hoping to find someone on the forum that has put some time and money into a car and is thinking to sell to start another project.

Hi Joe.
My 1750 series 1 will be on the market as of February. There is a fait bit of detail on the car in my previous posts. It's got plenty of well known history and many of my early hassles have been rectified. Let me know if you are interested. I'm near Ringwood.

Sorry Joe. After your post I was contacted by two other alfistas and one of them has placed a deposit on the car based on the sites pictures, history and a mechanics conversation.He's flying down next week to finalise the sale. If it falls through I'll be in touch.
