That would be the opening of the Australian Rally Championship at Calder and surrounding suburbs, lot of competition that weekend, all the CAMS officials will be at the opening round of the Australian Taxi Car Series at The Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, but the Premier Motorsport event will take place at Winton International Raceway for the Alfa Romeo driver training on the Saturday, and the 2nd round of the EBC-RDA Brakes Alfaclub Sprint series< Colin.

I know, but im sure there are people on here that are not going to clipsal or winton and might want to see some action a little closer to home, and im thinking greg might be interested as might a few others.

And the Australian Rally Championship, i beleive is on tarmac and around Calder and their is a wider variety of cars than you will see in the Australian V-8 Taxi Series, something a bit different, Colin.

Using the Thunderdome as part of the Australian Rally Championship is very appropriate, it was rough as when the Alfa club ran there over 20 years ago, now that it has sunk, ideal Rally track, with many Car brands competing, Colin.

also helps that rally cars have long suspension travel and solid shocks.  I remember running on the bump stops every time we ran there.  Even with track suspension.

Mind you, when you drive on the dome you tend to look up and out the side window;  makes it hard if there is a roll cage in the way!
