I need to remove the heads on my engine 'cause the inlet valves don't seam to want to seal properly.
I was going to this but then I put the job off because I needed the car but now it seams it absolutely must be done because I can't get the engine to run (except for a very brief moment) on the Adaptronic.

So has anybody successfully removed the passenger side head with the engine still in the engine bay and the brake booster still attached to the car???

Mate,

Good news and bad.
Good: heads on the V6 are nice and easy to do,
Bad: engine out or brake booster out - pick one!

Personally I prefer the engine out, as it's a relatively easy job (what I've done in the past) and the brake booster is a pain. The engine out means you can check the bay for any othe nasty surprises and fix the paint that's been stripped off by brake fluid leaking from the rear bias valve.

Good luck.

Thanks Steveo,

I kinda thought it'd be the case  :(.
Not much fun when you've been reattaching the engine to the car after it was out, only to find it has to come out again (it was in there 'loosely' in most of the photo's)!
Still, now I have a good reason to overhaul the heads properly as well as to tidy up those ugly ports. I might as well finish the passenger side extractors while I'm at it, too.

Too many jobs, but needing much more motivation to see them through.................... Plus the MR2 needs some love and coin.

Twice I've seen this thread and both times I momentarily wince at the title.  Sounds grisly.  :o
