hey lads was doing my brake pads

As i was pushing the brake piston back. i found that the driver side piston dosent push back in all the way like it should.
but it pushes out all the way when i put my foot on the brake pedal which is normal ...

left side is fine goes in and out nicely

would it be cheaper getting them reconditioned or better off finding a second hand one ??

regards alfio

Rebuild them with new seals is cheaper and better.  Secondhand one is/could be as old as your's.

Take them to your favourite Alfa specialist or brake place for a couple seal kits and way you go for a couple of hours of fun.  Since the pistons are moving, you shouldn't have problems getting them out.  Then clean up bores and pistons with scotch brite or 800 wet/dry.

Agree with Neil. You will have peace of mind that your brake calipers will be sound for many years.

Take the calipers with you when you get the new seals, as there are many different calipers used in the various 33's over the years, some 33 brake calipers have to have the piston installed a certain way, so that the piston pushes on the leading, [front] part of the brake pad, not pushes the trailing, [back], part of the brake pad, there is usually a cut out on the piston, important that you get it right, otherwise the brakes will sqeel and you will have uneven pad wear, lubricate the pistons and bores with brake fluid or rubber grease, and when assembled, bleed the entire brake system, and while you are at it, bleed the clutch as well, Colin.
