I was lucky enough to find a very well looked after 1967 Giulia Super to add to the collection last week. Here are some pictures.

Older restoration, lots of orginal bits by the looks of it. Drives well, fully registered for everyday use.

Cheers

Excellent! x 2!

How's the boot area? All original rubber liner etc? And the engine bay area?

Thanks guys...I don't know too much yet. I don't think it is the cars original colour but it is an ALFA colour. Will contact the old owner to figure out, the deal happened quick and without me.

I will try and take more photos tomorrow and post........

Hi Emmanuel

Well done. Is that 2 Supers in the stable now?

You know, I still hanker after (another) one.  Stretching my memory but the steering wheel looks 1967 while the grille looks 1968.  Over to the experts.

The car must have been very lightly used as the stitching in the front seats looks original but only just worn.  I remember being disapopinted that the seat stitching in my Super deteriorated within 2 years of new!

Kind regards Dave

Hi David,

'67/'68? Not sure. The car was on historic rego when I bought it and it had 1967 as the model year yet when the RTA processed the new rego their system said it was a 1968. There was no point arguing across the counter they wouldn't budge. I havent sent the nembers through to Marco yet but that will only give me a build date.Once the cars got here and got sold the year could have changed!

It is 2 Super's yes, I also have another Giulia about to land.....will post as soon as I get it.......

Cheers

Emmanuel

Lovely looking Super, it definitely has the '68 onwards grill, the script on the bonnet as well is what was on my '68, while the external door handles, bumper and front side indicators, rear C piller badge all appear correct for a '68 Super.  On the other hand the steering wheel and door grabs, window winder etc are what you would find in a 66-67 model.  In looking at the front seats, I am actually thinking they are more like what my brother has in his '70 1300 Ti.  The 66-67 Super's front seats have a rolled over top edge, while from memory, '68-69 Super's seats are more squared off.  Most interesting.  The body colour definitely looks like an Alfa colour, I just can't recall the name.  My '69 (66-67 rep) was painted originally in this colour.

Thought you were off loading Alfas Emmanual, not collecting more  ??? ;D ;D  or are you trying to corner the Giulia Super market.  Have fun with them.

So it looks a MY68 car that started production in 1967. The only standout thing that may or may not be right is it has the earlier steering wheel, but as we know nothing is set in stone with Alfa production. Dave you can have the early armrests etc with the later grille.

Here's a few tidbits of info from my circle of Giulia-nutter friends as we tried to work out the variants

MY68

Exterior changes:
- New front grill with 5 horizontal SS bars over black mesh
- Trim around the headlamps from pressed SS (on Unificatas it was chrome base metal)
- Script in italic 'giulia super' on the bonnet front left
- Script 'alfa romeo' on the trunk moves from the center to the left
- New directional repeaters (fish shaped) on the front fenders
- Wheels now with knuckles in stead of clips for hubcap mounting
- Door lock on the passenger side
- C-pillar Bollino d'Oro badges(same as previous year)

Interior changes:
- New Steering wheel. Same as GT Veloce
- Second wiper speed

Mechanical changes:
- Cylinder head of the GT Veloce (type 105.36) Part N° 105.36.01.053.00
- 'New' Camshafts
- Lower A-arm now fixed to the chassis with 4 bolts in stead of 2
- A-arm bushes replaced with new model with dust cups. Upper arms inner steel/nylon bushes has replaced with the rubber ones.

Attached are a few pages from my Giulia Super Instruction Book #1290 published in Sept. 1967.

Cheers Derek, as ever am always happy to be better informed by you with your greater knowledge. Out of curiosity what do you make of the shape of the front seats. My observations were based on my experience from various models I have seen first hand.

ah yes but your observations are sharper than mine! I don't know anyone up here with a '68. Maybe Gavin C's car but I don't have any pics. I think you could be right after looking at a pic of Randy's '68 on the BB.
