help with fault code U1711 please

 can anyone help me with fault code U1711,it's a manual not a selespeed.it stopping me from revving past 4500 rpm....

Possibly an odd one. I don't know how to interpret it, but I believe U1711 means:

U1711 CAN Network (NCM - NCA)

Thus, a CANBUS communication network error between the engine management ECU and.....err, automatic gearbox node. 

Obviously doesn't make sense for your car, so I don't know...

'U' should mean 'communication network' (ie: CANBUS). '7' should mean the transmission. Was any work done on the car? Any chance a plug/loom could be disconnected? Have a look, see if anything seems unplugged around the gearbox.
