The Alfa Romeo 4C (Type 960) is a small, mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive sports car produced at the Maserati plant in Modena, Italy. The car is available as a coupe or spider and is characterised by extreme light weight (less than 900 Kg in models for the European market) due to its carbon-fibre tub and aluminium sub-frames.
The car first appeared as a concept at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and made its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June of the same year.
The 4C is Alfa Romeo's first take of a sports car since The Alfa Romeo 8C and the name scheme refers to the number of cylinders in the corresponding configuration, so the Alfa Romeo 4C.
