Targa Classica 2024 Edition

Goldfields | Warrnambool | Torquay | MCG

March 18th - 21st 2024

The 2024 event will follow Victoria's goldminers west in search of great roads, historic towns and back along the Great Ocean Road.

An exciting route has been planned to start the 2024 event in the centre of Victoria's goldfields. Competitors will come together at the RACV Goldfields Resort on Monday 18 March. The competition will tour the goldfields area and then head west to the Grampians and then south to the Great Ocean Road. The event team have just returned from their first route check with big smiles!

As ever the challenge for us is to feed you all. The 2023 event sold out 6 months prior to the event. Whilst we have been able to expand the 2024 event it is already close to sold out. Once we finalize the final capacity at Goldfields, Warrnambool, and Torquay we will close the 2024 entries and set up a wait list.
Given the demand for 2024 , we expect registrations wont be opened for very long, so get yours in now!

So the fun begins on Monday March 18, 2024 Targa Classica starts and for the second time will drive the Great Ocean Road on its way back to the iconic MCG!

Australia was well represented in this year's event by:
* Dave Reidie and Leigh Colbert who came 44th outright and 2nd in class in Car 94, FIAT 508 S "BALILLA" COPPA D'ORO 1935.
* Peter and Anne Williams, Car 355. In their beautiful AUSTIN HEALEY 100 S 1955, a car that was voted by the public as one of the top 25 cars in the event!!

Anne Williams, Car 355…

"Took nearly the whole day for registration in true Italian 'chaos' but final tick this afternoon when cars assemble in the square! Met some lovely competitors who said it is more complicated each year! Caught up with David and Leigh. Cars are incredible! Our machina is not working so at the moment no speed or distances. Thunderstorms each night so car is a spa in the morning & maybe part of the problem. We are 355!"

What could go wrong!! Well done to both teams – what an event the Mille Miglia is – truly one of the best events, exhausting, exhilarating and a never-ending highlight from start to finish!

After a week of Targa Classica fun, competitors then have the additional option to stay on for the fun and excitement of the Australian Grand Prix. Whilst in 2022 Targa Classica teams had the amazing opportunity to drive the track, we do not expect that will be any track time in 2024, the F1, F2, F3 events and the incredible amount of support equipment required literally fill all space on and off the track.
